🎬 Current Production: A Season Afield
Client: Westbound Media Company / Wineram Productions
Type: Feature Documentary
Role: Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Editor
Status: Currently in production for a 2027 release
Link: A Season Afield Official Trailer
Overview:
A Season Afield is a meditative feature documentary following Hank — a thirteen-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer — through his final hunting season across the American West. Born in a San Jose junkyard and shaped by thirteen autumns of open country, Hank’s story is told almost entirely from the ground up, at dog-eye level, through the textures of sagebrush, frost, and wide-open sky. It is not a story about a perfect bird dog. It’s about what it means to finish something with grace.
Approach:
Shot in ProRes HQ on the S1II across the American West, the film blends intimate verité moments, archival footage spanning thirteen years, and a literary POV narration in the tradition of Jim Kjelgaard. Owning the full pipeline — directing, cinematography, editing, sound, and motion design — every creative decision serves a single goal: honoring a bond built one footstep at a time.
